Is anyone else going to graduation parties? I have a gazillion to go to. I went to an awesome one today and stayed there for a rather long period of time. I gave the graduate Someplace to be Flying wrapped rather prettily in orange tissue paper with a calendar page on it as decoration. the old page had autumn leaves on it I thought it looked really pretty.

k guys, want to hear something special? so our comp died, right, and the one downstairs is a piece of something i will not name in an effort to keep this blog G-rated (perhaps a vain effort, with fridgey around :D) and mater explodes if you touch or even look oddly at her Work Laptop of DOOM. So she bought a new (actually old, but new for us) computer…off ebay. It’s coming sometime soonish (this is being typed on the Work Laptop of DOOM…SSH! don’t tell!) so i can actually get on and post once more at least vaguely regularly.

I apologize guys, “Whisper of the heart” was not, in fact, made by Miyazaki. It was done by Studio Ghibli. Silly Em thought this was the same thing.
Speaking of which, Miyazaki’s son just made a movie based on Le Guin’s ‘Tales from Earthsea”. I’ve never actually read that one, but I love Le Guin. I just couldn’t get through “A Wiizard of Earthsea”. it was just too slow. I can read her long-winded sci-fi novels which are mainly about politics and random physics theories, but not her fantasy epics. I’m kidding, she only wrote one of those.

I read the Earthsea trilogy a while ago when I was bored. I think it was OK. I don’t really remember. I might have been too young to fully get into it, but I don’t think so. I read The Lathe of Heaven a few months ago. It was fascinating. Fascinating in a kind of odd semi-depressing way that made me want to listen to that Beatles song except for it not being on iTunes. And thought-provoking.

Meh, the boredom. I have a number of things I could be doing [aka, 25 English notecards that are due today but I didn’t do because I changed my topic late last night and really can’t be bothered to do still more index cards].

Ok, so I mentioned the other day that my dad’s promotion was today. It was fun, in the loosest sense of the word, meaning I got flowers and had cake. My dad made colonel, which is great! Full bird! I also got to miss PE and math, but I had to go to school for the Algebra SOLs. BLERGH!! I hate them!! Especially because it was the night after I had Morrocan food, which I should mention. The restaurant was called Marrakesh, and it was very dimly lit in the place.YOu went in through this fortress of a door, there were knockers but no handle on the outside. You sit on thes giant couches and you eat with your fingers. There were also belly-dancers periodically throughout the night which was very cool. THe food was good, but ther were seven courses and even though our reservations were at 6 we had just left the restaurant at 9. I didn’t get home until 10:20pm, as the restaurant was in downtown DC, 6th and New York. It was fun, but the SOL was not and neither was my mom attacking my head w/ a curling iron to make it straight, which was futile as we ended up pulling it back anyway. I do not want to study. I do not want to study. Idon’t want he SOLs DIE STANDARDIZED TESTING!!!!!

Anyway, I had a rather good idea for a thread. RPW=Role-playing Writing. Sort of a cross between an RRR and RPG. I will explain.
Everyone makes up one character (made up, mind you!) and we decide on plot, time, etc. just like usual. Then we start. It would be in the form of letters or e-mails, and we would say at the top of our post who the letter was to. Everyone would have to read all of the posts, though, to prevent conflicting plot twists, but their character wouldn’t know about whatever the letter said unless it was addressed to them.
Get it?
If not, then phooey. That was hard to explain.

I’ve seen stories where the story is told by several people, and it keeps switching back and forth. A good example is The Homework Machine by Dan Gutman. Here’s the type of story-telling method I’m talking about:
KRISTEN
So then we snuck into the warehouse with a full moon on. I was pretty scared, as it was also Friday the 13th.
DANNY
I told Kristen there was nothing to be scared about. What a wimp! There’s no evidence that Friday the 13th does anything to make people have bad luck.
KRISTEN
And then you bumped into Sophia and scared the yabbers out of yourself.
SOPHIA
Yea.
DANNY
Oh shut up. Who cares about that? The point was, we needed to get into that warehouse because….
People could pick a character, and then pop into the story and write from their perspective of things. I think it would be pretty cool. (And posts wouldn’t have to be as short as my example story…)

Oh god I love HSAs. I didn’t have to go to school until 12, and I have discovered I am much more amiable if I actually get to sleep. Who knew? Anyway, it was a good day and I’ve been in a very monty python mood. It began with me watching a couple episodes of flying circus before school (they play it on PBS on sundays and we tivo it), then having “always look on the bright side” stuck in my head, and concluding with seeing shrek 3, which had two of the pythons in it. Coincidence? Yes. Now I get to relax and read sherlock holmes stories. Sorry about capitalization, I’m feeling sort of lazy right now.

*sigh…..* Now, I know I have no right to complain, but I have officially decided that “inventing” the name Nikaida (it was already around as a really really really really uncommon name before, I looked it up before I invented it and there was only one website with the name Nikaida on it) was a VERY. BAD. THING.
I have, apparently, singlehandedly made it popular. (Known as Nikaida on several games and being really powerful doesn’t help.) Well, not SINGLEHANDEDLY, but rather close to it.
Look up Nikaida on Google now. It’s ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!!
Just a few years ago, there was only ONE FLIPPIN SITE THAT HAD THE NAME ON IT! And that was a place in Africa.
I just tried to sign up for a site (not ScriptFrenzy or Nanowrimo) and it said the name Nikaida was already taken.
Ouch.
Next thing I know, people will be naming their kids Nikaida, and when I ask them how they thought up the name, they’ll say something like, “Oh, I saw it on a website somewhere and thought it sounded really cool.” Well, DUH. It was invented by ME. For MY USE ONLY.
But words are for the people, and I DON’T HAVE FULL DIBS ON MY OWN NAME (all right, not MY name, but my online name) anymore! I ALSO invented Zyka. Which apparently meant “awesome” in slang terms before I started using it.
But if you happen to ever meet someone named Nikaida or Zyka when you grow up, always think of your friend Zyka.

I kept an eye out for towels on the Washington subway train this morning but regret to report that nobody seemed to be carrying any. In dashing out the door to catch my bus, I’d forgotten mine, too. Once I got downtown, though, I popped into a CVS drugstore and bought the most garish beach towel I could find, slung it over my shoulder, and wore it proudly the rest of the way to work*. It’s perfect. It’s got rainbow colors in the most eye-assaulting hues, all jumbled up together. I’ll post a picture later if I get a chance. E-mail us pictures of your towels, and we’ll post them, too.

We all backed away from him about five feet. Everyone was silent, and stared at him strangely. Then a flute player said, “Me, too! I’m not going to play for the whole summer, either!” and we all burst out in gasps and stepped away from her too, but then we ended up near Whatshisname and so we had to just avert our eyes.
It was terrible. Who could just NOT play their trumpet for THAT LONG? Wouldn’t you end up really bad? It’s terrible! Terribleterribleterribleterribleterrible!

Thursday night was shot, because the sister had a project to do for which she needed a program that’s on only my computer. The only thing I really got to do was check my SAT scores. 2260, overall [780CR+770M+710W]. And now for the subject tests next fall…gah.
Then I popped in to wish everyone a happy Towel Day yesterday morning before school. Because after school, I was taken to a gym [gah, so tiring, I’m so not physically strong] stopped at home to eat, then went to a Bunko party. I passed out when we got home and woke around 9.30 this morning. I made choklit/pb fudge this morning, too! Mmmm.
So it’s a lovely long Memorial Day weekend for us Americans at least…

206- good job on the SAT! I’ve not taken it yet, I’m taking it this coming saturday, actually. I took the ACT, though.
I took the ACT as practice a little while ago. The math part was horrible… one minute per problem, 60 problems, and I only knew how to do a third of them. Luckily, they don’t take off points for the ones you get wrong on it, I just filled in bubbles randomly when there were 15 seconds left and I hadn’t done a lot of them. Still got a good score though.
I took the SAT in 6th grade, though, with several of my classmates. Didn’t do as well, and we all got rather odd looks while we were taking it.

Hello all you dear peoples and dear GAPAs. I have come to ask you a question. Well, it wouldn’t likeI would be answering a question, or would it be? I mean really, where’s the logic in it all. Because if I was answering a question, would I get to point instead of stalling like I am now? Or AM I stalling? Am I really just trying to see how much I can write without annoying myself? Or to impress other people? Ah, bosh. Never mind all the philosophy. Now let me get to the point. Now, hem hem hem.
Firstly, my first question is to the GAPA or anybody else that might know.
(1) I am interested in becoming a molecular pharmacologist. What is the required knowledge to become somebody like that?
(2) Why does it matter that your 12 years old on answer bag? I have plenty of answers but I “don’t meet the age requirements”

I have a mac notebook. It is slower than the other computers, and the battery doesn’t work for more than five minutes, but the point is I have a computer I can write on it, and I can go online, and I don’t have to wait for other people.
Oh, and in response to E2MB keyboard comment: It’s a lot better than my dad’s keyboard.

We got back from the shiney things convention Jewlery show a little while ago. What’s it like? Imagine a table about 10 feet long and 4 feet wide. Now cover it with ropes of gemstones in all colors, stone figurines, scarves, neclaces and bracelets hanging from stands and hundreds of rings in those little foam ring-holders.
Now multiply it by 500. That’s what it’s like. I swear by summer I am not exagerating. *dies*
It was so friggin’ awsome. We can go into the wholesale part of it where there’s no tax and everything is cheeper, and for the first few minutes it’s hard not to be blinded by everything. I managed to spend a little over 65 dollers there, but it was so worth it. The only thing I would possibly consider buying instead is books.
I bought:
3 multi-colored scarves as presents for my friends
A really pretty necklace that has lots of conected green flowers and leaves and gems on it, with earings
A ring that looks like a snake curling once around my finger
A pendent that’s of a dragon with it’s wings flared
A Navajo silver bracelet with a bear’s footprintish mark and a turquoise stone
3 glass stones with wire sort of twisting around it and keeping it in place, they go on necklaces
A nice chain that’s sort of wavy
A necklace of green beads spaced out on silk thread
Annnd… a Kokopelli pendant to replace the one I havn’t been able to find. Sure, I have almost no money left, but it was SO worth it.

Saturday night I saw POTC3, and last night I watched My Neighbor Totoro. Lots of fun.
I have Ecology Final Tuesday and my Constitution final Wednesday, with the Spanish final writing assignment spreading out over Thursday and Friday. Ick. After that there’s no school on 4 June, then 5 June is Graduation Rehearsal (which I need shoes for, crap), and 6 June is GRADUATION. Yesssssssss.
It’s not really a terribly big milestone, though. As my father said, he’s not exactly unhappy, but I’m expected to graduate from eighth grade.

I’m seriously considering joining color guard. Got back from Vermont late last night, NYSSMA majors is this week, there’s a month left of school, I don’t want to go tomorrow, we got our yearbooks on Thursday, I bought an insane pair of shoes at a yard sale on Friday, the formal dance is next week but I’ve decided not to wear the shoes, I have to finish sewing stars on the gauntlets I made, and it’s really really really hot.

Yes, I am confused. I am just going to ignore it.
My parents got mad at me yesterday about my progress report. Honestly, everything is above 90 except for HACS and math. HACS because the teacher always does one range lower than it actually is (85-89 instead of 90-95 or something like that) and math because I did badly on one test. Everything else in math I got a 99 or 100 or above a 100 on, and there were only two tests so that brought it down.
But do my parents listen to this? Noo. And they were actually telling me not to do my homework in social studies last week (they wanted me to practice violin instead). And now they’re mad that my social studies average is a 90-95 instead of the usual 96-100? And the teacher told us our actual averages, and mine was a 94. Good for not doing lots of my homework for one or two weeks.
And the science progress report is 100.2. They don’t go being happy about that, all they do is complain.

They gave me the scale sheet they use in the aditions and were talking about when the aditions would be… Id on’t know though, it’s a big commitment and only one person was in it from our band this year, and he’s really good. Plus I have other stuff going on around that time (hockey, mostly) so I dunno. I doubt I’d make it anyway, but yeah.

Is anyone else going to graduation parties? I have a gazillion to go to. I went to an awesome one today and stayed there for a rather long period of time. I gave the graduate Someplace to be Flying wrapped rather prettily in orange tissue paper with a calendar page on it as decoration. the old page had autumn leaves on it I thought it looked really pretty.
1) Well, my cousin is graduating from college in June, so I have a nice dinner to look forward to. But otherwise, nope! ^^ That does sound like a pretty way to present a gift~

Speaking of which, Miyazaki’s son just made a movie based on Le Guin’s ‘Tales from Earthsea”. I’ve never actually read that one, but I love Le Guin. I just couldn’t get through “A Wiizard of Earthsea”. it was just too slow. I can read her long-winded sci-fi novels which are mainly about politics and random physics theories, but not her fantasy epics. I’m kidding, she only wrote one of those.

I liked A Wizard of Earthsea, and the others were good too, and I read . . . um . . . what was it called . . . someone’s World, or something like that. I want to say Roshaun’s World, but that’s mixing up my books.
I read the Earthsea trilogy a while ago when I was bored. I think it was OK. I don’t really remember. I might have been too young to fully get into it, but I don’t think so. I read The Lathe of Heaven a few months ago. It was fascinating. Fascinating in a kind of odd semi-depressing way that made me want to listen to that Beatles song except for it not being on iTunes. And thought-provoking.
Mentions in the magazine definitely bring in new people, but I don’t know how much bearing they have on the number of posts. Even though MB was mentioned in both January and February, January turned out to be slow and February was pretty normal.

So how is everyone? Well, I hope. I cannot wait until Towel Day this Friday. I told a bunch of persons about it, and they said they’d have a Towel with them, too, but I seriously doubt that’ll happen. u_u Just like last year. Kids these days.

Ok, so I mentioned the other day that my dad’s promotion was today. It was fun, in the loosest sense of the word, meaning I got flowers and had cake. My dad made colonel, which is great! Full bird! I also got to miss PE and math, but I had to go to school for the Algebra SOLs. BLERGH!! I hate them!! Especially because it was the night after I had Morrocan food, which I should mention. The restaurant was called Marrakesh, and it was very dimly lit in the place.YOu went in through this fortress of a door, there were knockers but no handle on the outside. You sit on thes giant couches and you eat with your fingers. There were also belly-dancers periodically throughout the night which was very cool. THe food was good, but ther were seven courses and even though our reservations were at 6 we had just left the restaurant at 9. I didn’t get home until 10:20pm, as the restaurant was in downtown DC, 6th and New York. It was fun, but the SOL was not and neither was my mom attacking my head w/ a curling iron to make it straight, which was futile as we ended up pulling it back anyway. I do not want to study. I do not want to study. Idon’t want he SOLs DIE STANDARDIZED TESTING!!!!!

Congratulations to your father! I’ve been to Marrakesh (the restaurant) twice, both times with other science writers. It’s one of my favorite places. It would be a great place for a Kokonvention except that it’s a tad expensive.

Anyway, I had a rather good idea for a thread. RPW=Role-playing Writing. Sort of a cross between an RRR and RPG. I will explain.
Everyone makes up one character (made up, mind you!) and we decide on plot, time, etc. just like usual. Then we start. It would be in the form of letters or e-mails, and we would say at the top of our post who the letter was to. Everyone would have to read all of the posts, though, to prevent conflicting plot twists, but their character wouldn’t know about whatever the letter said unless it was addressed to them.
Get it?
If not, then phooey. That was hard to explain.
I’ve seen stories where the story is told by several people, and it keeps switching back and forth. A good example is The Homework Machine by Dan Gutman. Here’s the type of story-telling method I’m talking about:
KRISTEN
So then we snuck into the warehouse with a full moon on. I was pretty scared, as it was also Friday the 13th.
DANNY
I told Kristen there was nothing to be scared about. What a wimp! There’s no evidence that Friday the 13th does anything to make people have bad luck.
KRISTEN
And then you bumped into Sophia and scared the yabbers out of yourself.
SOPHIA
Yea.
DANNY
Oh shut up. Who cares about that? The point was, we needed to get into that warehouse because….
People could pick a character, and then pop into the story and write from their perspective of things. I think it would be pretty cool. (And posts wouldn’t have to be as short as my example story…)

Oh god I love HSAs. I didn’t have to go to school until 12, and I have discovered I am much more amiable if I actually get to sleep. Who knew? Anyway, it was a good day and I’ve been in a very monty python mood. It began with me watching a couple episodes of flying circus before school (they play it on PBS on sundays and we tivo it), then having “always look on the bright side” stuck in my head, and concluding with seeing shrek 3, which had two of the pythons in it. Coincidence? Yes. Now I get to relax and read sherlock holmes stories. Sorry about capitalization, I’m feeling sort of lazy right now.
How’s Shrek 3? I was annoyed that they put the “squash Shrek’s p****” gag in the first 2, and I hope they didn’t put it in #3 too.

*sigh…..* Now, I know I have no right to complain, but I have officially decided that “inventing” the name Nikaida (it was already around as a really really really really uncommon name before, I looked it up before I invented it and there was only one website with the name Nikaida on it) was a VERY. BAD. THING.
I have, apparently, singlehandedly made it popular. (Known as Nikaida on several games and being really powerful doesn’t help.) Well, not SINGLEHANDEDLY, but rather close to it.
Look up Nikaida on Google now. It’s ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!!
Just a few years ago, there was only ONE FLIPPIN SITE THAT HAD THE NAME ON IT! And that was a place in Africa.
I just tried to sign up for a site (not ScriptFrenzy or Nanowrimo) and it said the name Nikaida was already taken.
Ouch.
Next thing I know, people will be naming their kids Nikaida, and when I ask them how they thought up the name, they’ll say something like, “Oh, I saw it on a website somewhere and thought it sounded really cool.” Well, DUH. It was invented by ME. For MY USE ONLY.

it can also be used with many suffixes:

=pwn

i personally pronounce “Pwt” as pwut.

On another note, there is good news for those of you who visited the Wung thread. I drew a Wung on the whiteboard at school a few months ago, and now, at the end of the year, everybody wants me to draw one in their yearbook. I’m sure this is crucial to the Kokonspiracy, but I can’t for the life of me think how.

Has anyone ever tried that purple cough medicine stuff? I held my nose and drank water and I STILL had to overcome my stupid gag reflex. AND I STILL HAVE A COUGH! !*&^#!
I kept an eye out for towels on the Washington subway train this morning but regret to report that nobody seemed to be carrying any. In dashing out the door to catch my bus, I’d forgotten mine, too. Once I got downtown, though, I popped into a CVS drugstore and bought the most garish beach towel I could find, slung it over my shoulder, and wore it proudly the rest of the way to work*. It’s perfect. It’s got rainbow colors in the most eye-assaulting hues, all jumbled up together. I’ll post a picture later if I get a chance. E-mail us pictures of your towels, and we’ll post them, too.

Anyways, when does school end for you guys? Ours ended today. I hate it when school lets out. I am such a socially inept person, and my mom hates having friends over or having to take me to friends’ houses, so I get stuck home most of the time, as only one friend lives close enough for me to walk/drive to her house. All the other friends I have live in other towns, and most don’t have e-mail addresses.
I’m going to BOMBARD Jarom with emails until he replies, though. (Jarom is my friend who never replies to emails.)

ha! i pwned T in war-dodgeball 2day. other people had hit him wiht several balls, so he was hopping around with no arms and one leg, and then i hit him with another ball in the hip. he ended up laying on the ground with no arms, one leg, and a broken pelvis. [war-dodgeball is where if a ball hits you on a limb, you “lose” that limb and cannot use it anymore.]
This might seem scary, but tomarrow I’m going to Cinci, Ohio. I mean, I love my other grandparents and all, but seriously! I have ONE DAY to MB for a WHOLE WEEK!!! Absurd. And, there will be fifty thousand comments because it’s a weekend. A three day weekend. Wish me luck catching up!!!

189-Wow, you mean your first post wasn’t a clueless newbie post? i think mine was very newbieish and sort of clueless, and my second one, which was just a minute or so later, was completely clueless. I think it said something along the lines of “It says my last comment is awaiting moderation. How long will that take? i guess it’s pointless to ask this because by the time anyone can answer I’ll know anyway.” Im too lazy to go back to September and find it, but I think it was pretty similar to that.

We all backed away from him about five feet. Everyone was silent, and stared at him strangely. Then a flute player said, “Me, too! I’m not going to play for the whole summer, either!” and we all burst out in gasps and stepped away from her too, but then we ended up near Whatshisname and so we had to just avert our eyes.
It was terrible. Who could just NOT play their trumpet for THAT LONG? Wouldn’t you end up really bad? It’s terrible! Terribleterribleterribleterribleterrible!

Thursday night was shot, because the sister had a project to do for which she needed a program that’s on only my computer. The only thing I really got to do was check my SAT scores. 2260, overall [780CR+770M+710W]. And now for the subject tests next fall…gah.
Then I popped in to wish everyone a happy Towel Day yesterday morning before school. Because after school, I was taken to a gym [gah, so tiring, I’m so not physically strong] stopped at home to eat, then went to a Bunko party. I passed out when we got home and woke around 9.30 this morning. I made choklit/pb fudge this morning, too! Mmmm.
So it’s a lovely long Memorial Day weekend for us Americans at least…

I took the ACT as practice a little while ago. The math part was horrible… one minute per problem, 60 problems, and I only knew how to do a third of them. Luckily, they don’t take off points for the ones you get wrong on it, I just filled in bubbles randomly when there were 15 seconds left and I hadn’t done a lot of them. Still got a good score though.
I took the SAT in 6th grade, though, with several of my classmates. Didn’t do as well, and we all got rather odd looks while we were taking it.
Standardized tests are stupid. You can study for em.

I took the SAT in 7th grade; got a 1340 (720V, 620M [they didn’t have writing back then and also I hadn’t taken any high school math courses yet]).

Hello all you dear peoples and dear GAPAs. I have come to ask you a question. Well, it wouldn’t likeI would be answering a question, or would it be? I mean really, where’s the logic in it all. Because if I was answering a question, would I get to point instead of stalling like I am now? Or AM I stalling? Am I really just trying to see how much I can write without annoying myself? Or to impress other people? Ah, bosh. Never mind all the philosophy. Now let me get to the point. Now, hem hem hem.
Firstly, my first question is to the GAPA or anybody else that might know.
(1) I am interested in becoming a molecular pharmacologist. What is the required knowledge to become somebody like that?
(2) Why does it matter that your 12 years old on answer bag? I have plenty of answers but I “don’t meet the age requirements”
(3) Why is the best paying job crab-fishing in Alaska?
Plus does it get boring having to edit all these messages?

I have a mac notebook. It is slower than the other computers, and the battery doesn’t work for more than five minutes, but the point is I have a computer I can write on it, and I can go online, and I don’t have to wait for other people.

We got back from the
shiney things conventionJewlery show a little while ago. What’s it like? Imagine a table about 10 feet long and 4 feet wide. Now cover it with ropes of gemstones in all colors, stone figurines, scarves, neclaces and bracelets hanging from stands and hundreds of rings in those little foam ring-holders.Now multiply it by 500. That’s what it’s like. I swear by summer I am not exagerating. *dies*
It was so friggin’ awsome. We can go into the wholesale part of it where there’s no tax and everything is cheeper, and for the first few minutes it’s hard not to be blinded by everything. I managed to spend a little over 65 dollers there, but it was so worth it. The only thing I would possibly consider buying instead is books.

3 multi-colored scarves as presents for my friends
A really pretty necklace that has lots of conected green flowers and leaves and gems on it, with earings
A ring that looks like a snake curling once around my finger
A pendent that’s of a dragon with it’s wings flared
A Navajo silver bracelet with a bear’s footprintish mark and a turquoise stone
3 glass stones with wire sort of twisting around it and keeping it in place, they go on necklaces
A nice chain that’s sort of wavy
A necklace of green beads spaced out on silk thread
Annnd… a Kokopelli pendant to replace the one I havn’t been able to find. Sure, I have almost no money left, but it was SO worth it.

My computer crashed again. My dad got it booted up again by unplugging everything and trying again, so he thought there might be a problem with the peripherals. I think my USB bus is not working verywell. Soooo, yeah.

Saturday night I saw POTC3, and last night I watched My Neighbor Totoro. Lots of fun.
I have Ecology Final Tuesday and my Constitution final Wednesday, with the Spanish final writing assignment spreading out over Thursday and Friday. Ick. After that there’s no school on 4 June, then 5 June is Graduation Rehearsal (which I need shoes for, crap), and 6 June is GRADUATION. Yesssssssss.
It’s not really a terribly big milestone, though. As my father said, he’s not exactly unhappy, but I’m expected to graduate from eighth grade.

207- Please, no. I have a friend who has been obsessed with DBZ, Naruto (he still is, a bit), and he is now addicted to LOZ. I’ve started calling him “LOZ Addict”, and named my e-mail folder for him that. That’s not to say that the games aren’t fun, I have Twilight Princess, but there are better things to do with your life, like MB and soccer.

I’m seriously considering joining color guard. Got back from Vermont late last night, NYSSMA majors is this week, there’s a month left of school, I don’t want to go tomorrow, we got our yearbooks on Thursday, I bought an insane pair of shoes at a yard sale on Friday, the formal dance is next week but I’ve decided not to wear the shoes, I have to finish sewing stars on the gauntlets I made, and it’s really really really hot.

But seriously folks, nothing really happened, except for I met long lost relatives and presented my grandpa with a festchrift.
Yes, I am confused. I am just going to ignore it.
My parents got mad at me yesterday about my progress report. Honestly, everything is above 90 except for HACS and math. HACS because the teacher always does one range lower than it actually is (85-89 instead of 90-95 or something like that) and math because I did badly on one test. Everything else in math I got a 99 or 100 or above a 100 on, and there were only two tests so that brought it down.
But do my parents listen to this? Noo. And they were actually telling me not to do my homework in social studies last week (they wanted me to practice violin instead). And now they’re mad that my social studies average is a 90-95 instead of the usual 96-100? And the teacher told us our actual averages, and mine was a 94. Good for not doing lots of my homework for one or two weeks.
And the science progress report is 100.2. They don’t go being happy about that, all they do is complain.

The flute teacher I go to at school and my band director want me to try out of the district band, I think. They gave me the scale sheet they use in the aditions and were talking about when the aditions would be… Id on’t know though, it’s a big commitment and only one person was in it from our band this year, and he’s really good. Plus I have other stuff going on around that time (hockey, mostly) so I dunno. I doubt I’d make it anyway, but yeah.

319-if you want to, do it. you’d probably make it in if your band director wants you to try out. of course that sound totally hypocritical because i haven’t tried out for any extra bands ever despite parentals and others always telling me to. but if you want to, go for it.
