Role-Playing Writing, Part 1

Alice’s idea, sort of a cross between RRRs and RPGs with a touch of epistolary novel. Here’s how she described it:

Everyone makes up one character (made up, mind you!) and we decide on plot, time, etc. just like usual. Then we start. It would be in the form of letters or e-mails, and we would say at the top of our post who the letter was to.

Everyone would have to read all of the posts, though, to prevent conflicting plot twists, but their character wouldn’t know about whatever the letter said unless it was addressed to them.

Get it?
If not, then phooey. That was hard to explain.

RRR, version 2007.1 (Terenika) – Part 2

Continued from Part 1.

Script Frenzy

Another popular homework replacement, fastershorter than National Novel-Writing Month but equally enticing to MBers.

Muse Fanfiction, v. 2007.1

Prarilius Canix has been quietly laboring on a story thread that began almost a year ago. The current story began in April, inspired by Robert’s Muse/Harry Potter Fanfic (which can be found here and here). PC describes his tale as “the Muses wreaking havoc in the world of Eragon.”

Alice has also started a story “of how the Muses made a time machine, went back in time, and found the lost tenth Muse of literature.”

Please note: these are not RRRs but solo projects which share the same thread. Start your own or just stop by and visit. Writing doesn’t have to be a lonely business, at least not on MuseBlog.

RRR V. 2007.3 (Capt. Pye & Co.) — Part 2

RRR = Round-Robin ‘Riting, as every MuseBlogger must know by now.

Continued from Part 1.

RRR, v. 2007.2 (Science-fiction) – Part 3

Continued from https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=793 .

Books in Progress, v. 2007.2

The old one is too cumbersome to load, so in answer to Alice’s request, here’s a fresh slate.

The original idea came from Prarilius Canix, who requested “a thread for Musers who have written/are writing/want to write books… a place to bounce ideas off of other people who share that interest.”

The Lord of the Rings

We had a Tolkien thread last year, but there’s been a request for a new one. With his latest posthumous book The Children of Húrin just out, now seems like a good time. Go to it!

WARNING: Inevitable spoilers.

TERRA formed, Part 1: The Edit

The first draft of the first part of RRR 2007.2 is now complete.

The current version can be found here.

RRR, v. 2007.4 (Humor/Fairytale/Fractured) – Part One

MBers have proposed that this new Round-Robin ‘Riting threat* thread be about humor, satire, and/or fractured fairytales. That’s fine with us. It’s your thread. Take it away, Musers!

NOTE: It doesn’t really get started until around Comment 60.

*It’s not really very threatening.

(That’s Round-Robin ‘Riting, for the uninitiated.)

Books in Progress

Prarilius Canix’s idea. His description:

GAPAs, will you make a thread for Musers who have written/are writing/want to write books? It would be a good place to bounce ideas off of other people who share that interest.

Harry Potter, v. 2007.1

With a movie and the last book coming out this summer, people are bound to be talking about it all over the Web. Here’s MuseBlog’s contribution to the discussion.

Poems & Songs, v. 2007.1

The latest in the series. For the previous one, click here.

RRR, v. 2007.2 – Science-fiction

Continued at https://musefanpage.com/blog/?p=793

Requested by Kiki and by Prarilius Canix. PC writes:

Specifically, a sci-fi RRR. Most of the past ones have been fantasy. I like fantasy a lot, but I think we could use something different.

Sagas and Epics

They’re the original long fantasy stories. Like ’em? Hate ’em? Either way, let’s hear why.

Writing, v. 2007.1

By special (and repeated) request of Kiki the Great: a new place to post things you’ve written and/or to talk about writing in general.

RRR*, version 2006.6, Part 2 (The Etheterre Chronicles)

Suggested title: The Etheterre Chronicles or The Codex Aetherica

Continued from (naturally enough) Part One.

*Round-Robin ‘Riting.

RRR*, version 2007.1 (Terenika)

Continued.

*Round-Robin ‘Riting, a multiauthorial MuseBlog tradition.

Darth Yoda is looking for four or five dedicated writers to help start a new story. Any takers?

RRR*, version 2006.1, Part 4

*Round-Robin ‘Riting, a MuseBlog tradition in which MBers take turns writing a story.

Continued from Part 2 (the one about the afareet). The story before that was summarized on the RRR 2006.1.3 Reference Text.

Poems and Songs, v. 2006.5

Elassë~Adael (currently calling herself “e~a the sock monkey”) humbly requests a new installment of the Poems and Songs thread. There’s plenty of room left on Poems and Songs, v. 2006.4. We’re all in favor of humility, however, so here’s one more P&S thread to round off the year.

NaNoWriMo*, Part 2

*National Novel Writing Month, i.e., November. The thread got off to a good start in Part One, but as usual everyone immediately forgot about it as soon as it scrolled off the first page. Here’ s more.
