Attention, Laggardly Chessplayers!

Please keep your games moving. If you think you’re doomed and there’s no point in continuing, you can always hit the skull-and-crossbones button to resign. Otherwise, please think about your next move, make it, and let your opponent make ens next move.

(It wouldn’t hurt to add a comment letting your opponent know that you’ve moved.)

Boston/Cambridge Kokonvention, March 13, 2010

It starts at 11:30 a.m. blog time (12:30 Boston time). No doubt the Kokonventioneers will find a way to report in during the proceedings; in any case, we’re sure to hear from them eventually.

Help Needed With Muse Archives!

ATTENTION, MBERS!

Our list or Contents of Back Issues is now a year out of date, and the Q&A questions are even further behind. Any help will be much appreciated (and amply rewarded with virtual pie).

Thanks!

Attention, Prussiania Fans!

Robert’s ultra-rare Prussianian doodles have been re-scanned and are once again visible on the second Prussiania time-capsule thread.

Into the Unknown!

As you may have noticed in the sidebar, the Administrators can now create links that fling you randomly to who-knows-which threads on the blog.

Sound like fun? Try it by clicking here, and then come back and report where you wound up.

Defining MuseBlog (Since 2005)

Define the undefinable, you say? We wouldn’t be Muserly if we didn’t try from time to time. Below the fold, a compendium of quips in quest of the MuseBlog quintessence, a celebration of those moments when je ne sais quoi almost spake its name.

[This thread inspired by Princess_Magnolia’s comment about KaiYves’s sketch: “I have to admit I’ve never ever thought about ‘personified space stations’ before. You have officially brought a whole new dimension to my thinking.]

Attention, Would-Be North Carolina Kokonventioneers!

Two parents (Koppar’s and Tesseract’s) have reported in, and we are putting them in touch with each other to plan the Kokon.

Are any others still missing? (Ahoy, kiwimuncher!) If so, please have them write to the GAPAs (gapa @ musefanpage.com) soon.

Suggestion Box, v. 2010.1

What do you want to see on the blog, at Musery Loves Company, or anywhere else in the GAPAs’ domain? Here’s where to make your wishes known.

A Year of Random Time Travel

In 2009 we used the Random Thread themes to observe a year of random celebrations. For 2010, as noted on Anchors Aweigh post zero, we are traveling to different eras or events in history. We have some ideas in mind, but we’re open to suggestions. Let us know when/where you’d like to visit.

Thank you, MuseBlog!

…for all the lovely birthday wishes, pies, hugs, chocolate HPBs, and sundry presents virtual and/or invisible. You really made my day! As you so often do. Indeed, I feel sorry for adults who don’t have the chance to be GAPAs.

As long as I’m at it, let me add how much I appreciate your many comments about my graphics. There are few pleasures more satisfying than to make art for people who enjoy it with the same spirit in which it was created. As far as I’m concerned, you are the real Muses (but please don’t tell the others, I do need their continued cooperation).

Now before I become impossibly and irretrievably sappy, I can add only this

As ever, yours faithfully,

Rebecca, Lady Bunniful

We’re taking it down early tonight so the Administrators can celebrate the new year. There will still be sporadic moderation on other threads. Good night and happy 2010, everybody!

Chess Lesson 3 — with Lady Bunniful

GAPA Rebecca has decided to avail herself of Robert’s chess lessons. She’s not a super-confident chessplayer,* so any MBer is welcome to help her by suggesting moves and strategies.

*More precisely: complete neophyte. ~L.B.
