Pumpkin Drop 2007, Part 2

New: ATTENTION! Purple Panda and Taiwan Hippo Fan’s mother is VERY eager to involve Musers in the Pumpkin Drop and would like to hear from other potentially interested parents. Details below.

There was a flurry of interest in this event at the Kokonvention.

The sponsor, West Virginia University, has finally posted information about the drop. As feared, it takes place on a Friday, which may limit Musers’ ability to take part. Anyone possibly interested can find out all about it here (remove spaces):

Muse fielded a team a few years ago, with results recounted in the Koko Bomb Saga.

English as She Is Spoke

Requested by Disreputable Dragon, who describes it as follows:

all about the quirks of the English language and craunching marmosets – er, phrases that you want to find the origins of (oh dear, I ended a sentence with a preposition! *horror*)

Kokonvention Kountdown, Part 2

The Friday Washington Kokonvention is history (albeit recent and glorious history). The Wednesday Kokon’ is still to come. The kokonversation continues.

Continued from Part 1.

Attention, Kokonventioneers!

Don’t worry if you don’t feel inspired to make pseudopies (“dry pies”). The GAPAs will whip up some quick-and-sloppy ones this weekend so nobody will go without.

If you haven’t made yours yet but plan to, think small. These pie-oid objects are symbols, not offensive weapons. The lighter and more portable they are, the happier you will be as you lug them around the scorching, steaming, sizzling streets of Washington, D.C., which non-natives have been known to mistake for the surface of the planet Venus.

This announcement will be repeated on the Kokonvention Kountdown thread.

Coy Woodnesse*, v. 2007.2

*Middle English for “quiet madness,” a name that doesn’t mean very much but that is undeniably coole.

This ever-popular thread is for foreign languages and other unusual means of communication. Version 2007.1 and its predecessors will give you an idea of how it works.
