Life, the universe, pies, hot-pink bunnies, world domination, and everything
A lot of MuseBloggers are doing this, and Shakespeare’s birthday is the ideal day to launch a thread about it.
Born on this day in 1564
(Or maybe yesterday–we only know
When he was christened), Shakespeare still remains
The universally acknowledged king
Of English poetry. To honor him
We ask that Musers posting on this thread
Attempt to write all of their messages
In iambs (the poetic “foot” that goes
Ta-DAH), five to a line–in other words,
Pentameter. True, that will take some work,
But pretty soon you’ll get the hang of it:
Ta-DAH, ta-DAH, ta-DAH, ta-DAH, ta-DAH,
Just like this introduction. So, good luck!
Maybe Paul Baker will drop by. (For all
We know, he talks in sonnets all the time.)
Monday the 24th is the day. Green is the color. Virtual books, presumably, are the virtual gift of choice.
The old RPG (version 2006.1) is overflowing with posts. Do you want to continue it according to the same rules, or start a new one with new rules? Decide, and proceed.
New rules. See inside.
It’s too mainstream a holiday to make it into our “Dates to Remember” sidebar, but some of you want to to talk about it, so here you go.
What kind of name is Pineapple-Duck? And what is your favorite color, so we can all wear it?
The May/June Muse seems to have been printed unusually early. Let us know when it arrives and what you think of it (careful: may contain spoilers). And don’t forget to craunch the marmoset! (See page 21.)
Otzi wants to go to law school and then on to the White House, where she’ll kick back in the Red Room after a hard day of being president. She wonders what your plans are. (As does Planet of the APEricot’s villager.) So, the topic here is careers: Your goals, dreams and nightmares.
Continued in Version 2006.2.
Requested by several MuseBloggers, most recently General Yoda. All kinds–whatever you listen to, whatever you like to play.
It’s coming up fast: you could almost hold your breath until the end of school. Then comes your chance to do some real reading–untrammeled, unfettered, free.
So…what’s on your list, and what do you recommend?
Just under the title on the cover of every Muse you’ll see the words “From the Publishers of Cricket and Smithsonian Magazine.” That’s accurate as far as it goes, but it lacks a certain, shall we say, resonance. It also gives no clue about what a newcomer to the magazine can expect to find inside. We’re sure that MuseBloggers will have no trouble dreaming up something more creative. Suggestions, please!
Jessie (mother of yay4hotpinkbunnies now known as the pink stalking penguin of penzance) has surgery on Tuesday. Here’s a place to wish her well, cheer her on, and give her virtual tchoqlut. We’re rooting for you, Musermom!
From top to bottom: Solo Bunny, Bug-eyed Bunny, Neon Bunny, Bunny By Numbers, Pop Goes the Bunny, Op Art Bunny 1, Op Art Bunny 2, Beardsley Bunny, Spin the Bunny.
He turns 16 on Monday. Everybody wish him an Ultimate Supreme Executive Occasion!
This falls into the category of “saying nice things about our friends,” but Robert has just finished reading book three of Larry’s Cartoon History of the Universe and just has to tell the world how utterly brilliant and wonderful it is. If you’re tired of memorizing lists of kings and wars for school and really want to understand how history works, this series is a must.
OK, end of rhapsody. (A rhapsody is like a rant, only complimentary.)
In which we demonstrate that the Kokonspiracy is truly kosmopolitan.
P.S. Feel free to add places where you’d like to live, at least for a while.
A thread suggested by Purple Panda, who describes it thus: “… the best way to make chocolate chip cookies, a good method of doing homework, the secret to jump-roping, etc.” Brilliant idea, PP. Now, about that cookie recipe…
Many of us (GAPAs included) have been having trouble connecting to MuseBlog recently. Our host company blames unexplained “network outages.” That’s all we know. Patience, please, and keep on Musing!
