It’s today, November 5. In Britain, they say “Remember, remember the Fifth of November” and celebrate by trundling scarecrows from door to door and burning them on bonfires with fireworks bursting all around them — all to commemorate an explosion that famously did NOT happen there in 1605.
MuseBlog notes the occasion every year. Here are our threads from 2005 and 2006.
So that useful advice won’t get lost, here’s a place you can share your favorite tips and tricks or ask for specific help such as: How do you increase your word count? Keep your characters straight? Come up with names? How do you prepare yourself to withstand the dreaded Second Week Slog?
For general comments, word count announcements, or anything else NaNo-related, proceed to NaNoWriMo 2007, Part 2.

In the United States, it’s on November 22. Canadian Thanksgiving this year, however, is on Monday, October 8, and at least one Canadian MuseBlogger is desperate to talk about it. Any excuse will do for a party, we say.
If there are MuseBloggers who don’t like music, we haven’t met them yet. Continued from version 2007.3.

“Talk Like a Pirate” Day is Wednesday, September 19. (No, the GAPAs didn’t make it up. It goes far beyond MuseBlog.) How will you mARRRk the occasion?
Requested by Alice, who is bursting to talk about it.
Actually, we’ve done this before.
